Another couple months, and another Cyndi Wang album comes out. Red Cyndi isn’t a studio album, but rather a compilation of her previous hits along with three new songs, which are featured here. (Also note that I have midterms, so I’m unlikely to be back until middle of next week). For those who like her, 看一看吧.

Hi Hi Bye Bye is one of those poppy, perhaps silly songs – take a look at the music video after the break to get an idea. Furthermore, it incorporates another children’s song into the melody. 因為是你, on the other hand, is a slow, romantic song, while 水仙 has a fair bit of 中國風 in it, with traditional instruments, but with a remixed Cyndi beat.

Just got this album today. It's just the same old track revived, It isn't exactly a good use of money. but if you want a quick introduction to Cyndi Wang's songs, this is the album for you.

It's not that Cyndi's no good in music why I don't like this album (you've got to be kidding me if she didn't make good music) but this is a best + New selcetion album. Since I have most of her albums this is just a replay of some of her songs. Now this serves as a warning to all those budget concious people. Not that I'm bring down Cyndi, but that's really the truth! most of the songs in this album are old songs of Cyndi. there are two new songs. Those two songs (DA DA DA & Moonlight 2005) are pretty good.

Now I'm just more than happy that My fave songs of Cyndi is in this album or I wouldn't have appreciated the effort Cyndi made in putting up this album together. There is also the DVD. oohhh that was the greatest! even if I already saw most of those mv's ... well it's ok with me.

This edition of "Cyndi 2005 New+Best Selection" is the limited version. so I don't think you can find this album cover in music stores that commonly. But I'm not that sure since I shop online so. you tell me ^_^.

I’ll be brief, since I’ve already given my thoughts in a previous song review – here. Basically, I guess that people are pretty much divided into two camps – those who like Cyndi and those who don’t. It seems to be pretty the much the same situation with English music: There are some whose songs are just so repetitive and bad, but they still sell well and earn a bundle of money (ahem, Soulja Boy, ahem). Cyndi Wang, in my opinion, is like that. Her songs for the most part are generic – they pretty much sound all the same. Take all the zhuda 主打 (title songs) from each of her albums and compare them – not too much different at all.

So, for those who do like Cyndi, listen away. If you already like her songs, you can’t really be disappointed now, since it’s basically more of the same.

Cyndi Wang with her new album

Taiwan pop star Cyndi Wang attended a ceremony Tuesday afternoon to release her latest album Magic Cyndi in Beijing.

It has been 15 months since the release of her last album Cyndi with U.

Cyndi Wang said Magic Cyndi is a breakthrough album and has clearly involved much devotion. She has tried some changes in her styles, songs, dance and music videos, aiming to show us "a grown-up Cyndi".

"I will keep endeavoring to write my own songs in the future, although it is not easy," Cyndi Wang added.

Malaysian Chinese singer Ah-Niu also attended the ceremony to promote Cyndi Wang's new album.

Cyndi Wang Biography

Cyndi Wang is one of the most popular artists in Taiwan and Asia. Started her career as a singer, Cyndi is now a recognized actress as well.

Cyndi Wang was signed by Avex and trained for 3 months in Japan before recording her debut album, Cyndi: Begin in 2003. Her debut album did pretty well, but was criticized for imitating on popular singer Jolin Tsai.

Those critics didn’t hurt though, as Cyndi released her 2nd album, Cyndi Loves You, in 2004, which also achieved good results. Cyndi also starred in popular TV drama La robe de Mariee des cieux in 2004. The combination of success made Cyndi the hottest rising star in Taiwan.

Cyndi Wang released her 3rd album, Honey, in 2005. Cyndi was already one of the most popular stars in Taiwan by then, and gaining reputation across China and other Asia region as well.

2006 was another good year for Cyndi, thanks to TV drama Sonria Pasta (or Smiling Pasta), co-starring Nicholas Teo. Sonria Pasta was one of the top rated dramas in Taiwan for 2006, and was popular in other Asian countries as well.
