Genie Cho or Genie Zhuo will always be Wang Zhi Er to me. Yes, I first encountered her in the drama format. The drama was Mean Girl Ah Chu but the real mean girl was Wang Zhi Er, an actress and singer played by Genie Cho who is herself an actress and singer. I do not want to go deeply into the drama in this post as it is supposed to be about music. However, it was only after watching the drama and really liking Wang Zhi Er as played by Genie Cho, I decided to find out more about her.
That is what I do when I watch dramas and like characters (and ultimately actors and musicians). Genie is her English name, her Chinese name is Cho Wen Hsuan. She is Taiwanese and has an AB blood type. I really really like Genie, mostly due to the character she played in Mean Girl Ah Chu which was just essentially the bitchy celebrity who was also vulnerable (I liked that her vulnerability actually made sense which is a very rare sighting in most of these dramas). I liked that her character was soo not weak and could be really cold and calculating. She was somewhat of a villain but I liked her anyway. And I guess I started believing that her personality in real life must be similar to her personality on screen. I know it is quite impossible. I still like Genie Cho, and I think she is very cute.
